IN-FIELD
PACRITEX REASEARCH

During your storm chasing adventure tour, you might have the potential to help with our current scientific field research campaign. This might include releasing radiosondes/and weather ballons that transmit data back to the tour vehicle or deploying ground-based in situ probes. For guests that are interested in the science of supercells and tornadoes, this can be very rewarding. And you may even be mentioned on any of our future peer reviewed papers! We are the only storm chasing tour company who also focuses on the science behind the storms we witness and chase. You can learn more about our current scientific field research campaign below.

PACRITEX – Pressure Acoustics Recordings Inside Tornadoes Experiment started its most recent field research called Project OFF, also known as OBSERVATIONS In The FORWARD FLANK of Supercells on May 1st of 2024. It was established and created by storm researcher and Meteorologist, Lanny Dean with over 34 years of experience!

The goal of PACRITEX / Project Off is to better understand Supercell thunderstorms and the life cycle of tornadoes. The objective is to strategically deploy the INPAR (Probes) and other scientific probes, and drones in the trajectory of tornadoes and severe storms!

IT'S SCIENCE BABY!!!
